Um what no screw you. Roxy was the only one even trying to be a friend that whole time? While Jane and Dirk were bitching over Jake and Jake bitched over them Roxy kept her feelings to herself and offered them advice. Dirk is a manipulative asshole, Jake is a complete moron, and Jane is too busy feeling sorry for herself to be useful. In short, Roxy is the only likable character of the Alpha kids.
Not as vulnerable with her emotions? I mean really, Jane basically not only let her feelings tear apart her friendship with Dirk and Roxy, she ACTIVELY DESTROYED her relationship with Jake once she realized how self-absorbed and generally oblivious he is. She basically screwed over the whole gang with her drama.
And while Jane was dealing with this, who was there for her? Just Roxy. Dirk was trying to win Jake over her, and Jake well, yeah, no need to even mention that mess. Roxy was doing everything she could to help Jane while she basically just spat in her face. Really this just reinforces her position as leader, as she’s the only one who noticed Jane’s poor emotional state and tried to do something about. Roxy tried to keep Jane from doing something they’d all regret.
I mean seriously I know this is unpopular homestuck opinions but I have to question if this guy actually read homestuck.
Also, when was Roxy ever played for sympathy? I don’t recall any situation in which she was portrayed as being sad about her situation at all. In fact in spite of all the crap she WAS going through she managed to keep smiling and not focus on herself at all (Likely due to intoxication but still.)

I agree with you that wishing for DaveJohn to become canon is fucking stupid because pretty much every ship in HS that’s been canonized has been either ignored completely or twisted and stomped on until all of its shippers cried in agony.
But.

The Hivebent Dancestors or the Beforus trolls?
Well as for the Dancestors, I think Mindfang/Redglare is very interesting, and Signless/Ψiioniic is okay. My favourite is probably Mindfang/Dolorosa.
For the Beforus trolls, I pretty much only ship Latula/Mituna, Kurloz/Meulin, Porrim/Aranea and maybe a bit Kurloz/Mituna.
